It has been a few month since the last blog post. A couple of things have been keeping me busy.
First - I have been taking an online Game Design course to further my understanding of designing games. The class is by Game Design Skills and it has been a very interesting set of studies and lectures. The course is going to be going on for another few weeks and I look forward to incorporating the lessons into my own workflow.
Second - in my spare time I have been following another python tutorial. I decided to take on a more complex one to get some more practice with programming classes. This one created a Zelda like clone, which was great and fun to work on.
For the next month or so I am going to continue diving into python and reviewing my programming fundamentals. The goal is to become proficient enough to quickly create and adjust prototypes. While I have worked with programmers in the past and have a decent level of experience, I would like the ability to create prototypes quickly. It can be difficult to exactly describe how something should work when it is very complex. An actual example, even an abstracted one, is much more effective.
At some point I may utilize Artificial Intelligence to help me create things faster, but I want the ability to understand what my code is doing. Not to mention I need the ability to describe, or prompt, what it is I want from a technical perspective. Perhaps writing technical documents and feeding that into AI would be effective in that regard. I will make a note to pull at that thread and see where it goes at some point in the future.
In the meantime - I will continue experimenting and making games alongside my programming studies.
